JOB SUMMARY
The electrical test technician conducts tests and completes data collection activities of related equipment, component systems and cable harness products. The position involves setting up testing equipment, proper handling of assemblies requiring test, diagnosing rejected assemblies, and documentation completion per established processes to record electrical test results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned. * Conducts tests of new components, cable assemblies and harness systems based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to appropriate development and testing group. * Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her immediate manager. * Performs pre-test inspections on assemblies and maintains accurate records of the as required of these parts and the collection of test data. * Assists in the building of test fixtures and the verification of these fixtures in order to confirm product specifications. Carry out other needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will improve test time, effectiveness, and efficiency. * Supports Production in various operations such as kitting, cutting, labels, and assembly as necessary. * Reports to the manager about all ongoing projects with regard to project status, completion time projections and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project. * Electrical diagnosis on assemblies and/or test assets to verify compliance and communicate rejections. * Ability to work with Quality, Engineering, and Production staff to understand customer requirements invoked, and to report conditions of test failures to assist in root cause analysis. | |
