Job Summary
The Assembler 1 position is responsible for assembling mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top-level components for complex aerospace products. This role supports production of commercial aircraft parts used in programs for major aviation customers. The assembler works with detailed blueprints, technical instructions, and precision tools to ensure all components meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently while maintaining strict adherence to aerospace manufacturing procedures and safety requirements.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assemble mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top-level product components according to specifications.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, written instructions, and verbal direction to complete assigned work accurately.
  • Use hand tools and precision instruments including pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, and dial indicators.
  • Perform lock wiring, safety wiring, and nameplate installation.
  • Conduct material preparation tasks, including surface lapping using proper tooling and compounds.
  • Inspect completed work to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained prior to use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Follow all operational procedures, quality requirements, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in cross-training and support other production areas as needed.
  • Identify and apply best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Support temporary reassignment to other production areas based on workload demands.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in assembly manufacturing required.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Experience using a wide range of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with operational requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Ability to work in a structured production environment with minimal supervision.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 2 years of assembly manufacturing experience required.
  • Aerospace assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience in FAA-regulated environments preferred.
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) certification preferred.


Education



  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
