As a Sr. Principal Consultant, IAM Strategy at GuidePoint Security, you will serve as a senior strategic advisor focused on helping enterprise organizations modernize and secure their identity ecosystems with a primary emphasis on Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS), Non-Human Identity Management (NHIM), and emerging identity security technologies. This role is responsible for leading strategic advisory engagements, shaping enterprise identity transformation initiatives, and helping clients adopt modern identity security architectures that support cloud, automation, AI, machine identities, and hybrid enterprise environments. The ideal candidate combines executive-level consulting experience with deep technical and operational knowledge across modern identity platforms and emerging cybersecurity trends.
Responsibilities
Strategic IAM Advisory
- Lead strategic identity security engagements focused on:
- Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS)
- Non-Human Identity Management (NHIM)
- Workforce and cloud identity modernization
- Identity security for AI and automation platforms
- Machine identity governance and secrets management
- Zero Trust identity architecture
- Advise enterprise clients on developing scalable, cloud-first identity strategies aligned to business transformation and cybersecurity objectives.
- Conduct maturity assessments, current-state evaluations, and future-state roadmap development for identity security programs.
- Define IAM operating models, governance frameworks, and identity security architecture standards.
- Provide strategic guidance to internal GuidePoint operations teams to move new offerings from idea to production.
Privileged Access Management (PAM) Leadership
- Advise organizations on enterprise PAM strategy, architecture, and modernization initiatives.
- Support the development of privileged access governance models, privileged session management strategies, vault modernization, and just-in-time access approaches.
- Guide customers through PAM platform selection, rationalization, consolidation, and optimization efforts.
- Provide expertise around:
- Human and non-human privileged identities
- Privileged automation accounts
- DevOps and secrets security
- Service account governance
- AI agent and machine privilege controls
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure strategic alignment throughout PAM implementation programs.
Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) Strategy
- Lead cloud identity transformation initiatives leveraging modern IDaaS platforms.
- Advise clients on identity modernization strategies across:
- Workforce identity
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
- Adaptive authentication
- Lifecycle orchestration
- Identity federation
- Cloud-native identity architectures
- Develop identity platform rationalization and consolidation strategies for enterprise customers.
- Support Zero Trust initiatives using identity as the foundational control plane.
Non-Human Identity Management (NHIM) & Emerging Technologies
- Help organizations establish governance and security strategies for machine identities, workloads, API keys, service accounts, certificates, bots, AI agents, and automation platforms.
- Advise clients on emerging identity security technologies and market trends related to:
- AI security and agentic AI
- Machine identity governance
- Secrets management
- Cloud-native entitlement management (CIEM)
- Identity data fabrics
- Identity analytics and AI-driven identity operations
- Decentralized identity and modern authentication models
- Evaluate emerging vendors and technologies to help clients modernize identity security programs.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership
Executive Advisory & Client Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to CISOs, CIOs, IAM leaders, and executive stakeholders.
- Facilitate executive workshops, strategic planning sessions, and architecture reviews.
- Present strategic recommendations, business cases, and transformation roadmaps to leadership teams.
- Translate technical identity challenges into business-aligned risk and operational outcomes.
Business Development & Sales Support
- Support sales and pre-sales activities for strategic IAM consulting opportunities.
- Collaborate with account teams to identify customer challenges and position strategic IAM services.
- Assist with proposals, statements of work, executive presentations, and strategic account planning.
- Support cross-functional initiatives with GuidePoint advisory, cloud, data, and managed security teams.
Practice Development & Thought Leadership
- Contribute to the development of GuidePoint's IAM strategy offerings, methodologies, templates, and service accelerators.
- Mentor consultants, architects, and engineers within the IAM practice.
- Collaborate with strategic technology partners
- Participate in industry conferences, webinars, customer events, and thought leadership initiatives focused on modern identity security.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in IAM, cybersecurity consulting, or enterprise security architecture.
- Deep expertise in PAM, cloud identity, and enterprise IAM strategy.
- Strong understanding of modern IDaaS platforms and hybrid identity architectures.
- Experience with emerging identity security concepts including NHIM, ITDR, secrets management, and AI security.
- Proven experience leading enterprise IAM transformation initiatives and strategic advisory engagements.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders across large enterprise organizations.
- Experience in consulting, advisory, or professional services environments strongly preferred.
