Mechanical Claims Specialist (Entry Level) Job Overview Are you an experienced mechanic ready to take your career off the shop floor and into a professional office environment? This opportunity allows you to apply your hands-on automotive knowledge in a new way-evaluating mechanical claims, supporting customers, and guiding dealerships through the warranty process.
As a *Mechanical Claims Specialist*, you'll leverage your understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes while working in a modern, customer-focused contact center. This role offers a more predictable schedule, reduced physical demands, and long-term career growth potential. Start Date * *August 18* What You'll Do In this role, you'll handle incoming calls and claims related to automotive repairs covered under vehicle service contracts. Your mechanical expertise will be essential in determining coverage decisions and advising next steps. Key Responsibilities * Evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical claims using detailed automotive knowledge and established coverage guidelines * Take inbound calls from *dealerships and vehicle owners* regarding mechanical claims * Determine whether repairs are approved, denied, or require additional information * Explain claim decisions clearly and professionally to customers and repair facilities * Advise customers on next steps for obtaining repair estimates and submitting claims * Use internal systems to document claim details accurately and thoroughly * Deliver empathetic, professional customer service in every interaction * Collaborate with team members and leaders to maintain high standards of fairness and accuracy Types of Calls You'll Handle * *Dealerships* calling to confirm if specific repairs are covered under warranty guidelines * *Vehicle owners* seeking explanations for approved or denied claims * *Vehicle owners* looking for guidance on how to proceed when experiencing a mechanical issue Required Skills & Experience Core Skills * Automotive repair and mechanical knowledge * Claims support or customer support experience * Ability to explain technical automotive concepts to non-technical individuals Qualifications * Minimum *3 years of experience* as an automotive mechanic or in a related mechanical role * Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and diagnostics * Excellent verbal communication skills * Proven customer service skills, including handling complex or emotional customer situations * Comfortable working in a fast-paced call center environment * Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated * Proficient with Microsoft Office (Email, Outlook, Teams) and able to navigate multiple systems simultaneously Preferred (Plus, Not Required) * ASE Certification * Experience with *AllData* or similar labor guides * Familiarity with scan tools and diagnostic equipment * Bilingual in *English and Spanish* Additional Requirements * Ability to travel to *Deerfield Beach, FL or St. Louis, MO* for a *2-week onboarding training* * *Willingness to work occasional Saturdays* * *Reliable high-speed home internet and a quiet workspace for remote or hybrid schedules* Experience Level * *Entry Level* (automotive experience required; claims experience not required) *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
