Position Summary

The Nurse Navigator RN is a multi-faceted opportunity providing comprehensive services to patients throughout our health care continuum. Working within hybrid roles of registered nurse, case manager and patient liaison, this dynamic role offers you the room to self-direct and prioritize.

As Nurse Navigator RN at MultiCare, you will utilize your advanced knowledge and specialized skill sets to oversee the clinical, quality and cost-effective outcomes of our patient population.

Responsibilities

  • You will organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating on an ongoing
  • basis
  • You will engage your critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, including knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data
  • You will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction
  • Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social background
  • Track key quality metrics using nationally recognized benchmarks where applicable
  • Lead care team initiatives to improve processes, and outcomes aligned with the quadruple aim: patient experience, population health, reduce costs, and clinician wellbeing
  • Address non-clinical barriers by connecting patients with community services

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or RN with 15+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement (Employees hired before 11/30/2025 will be exempt from this requirement)
  • Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)
  • Certification specific to area of hiring, highly desirable. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Certified Case Manager (CCMC), Accredited Case Manager (ACMA), Care Coordination and Transition Management (AAACN), Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN), or similar.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of recent clinical experience in area of specialty required
  • Current BLS certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $121,118.40 - $197,579.20 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
