Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric Infusion Center PRN

Inova Schar Cancer Institute's Pediatric Infusion Clinic is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the team. This role will be PRN day shift from Monday - Friday. Our nurses work 10-hour shifts and our clinic is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

As an Infusion Center Registered Nurse, you will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Providing direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor is of vital importance. Your leadership skills in decision making and problem solving are essential. Your ability to provide comprehensive patient and family education including information about treatments, medications, chemotherapy and other appropriate items, while keeping patients and families informed about all aspects of the plan of care, is required. Working with members of the healthcare team to provide patients and families with appropriate resources and support is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• Education: BSN or ADN - If ADN then complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required
• APHON Chemotherapy Card required within 3 months
• RN licensed, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Pediatric oncology experience strongly preferred
• Previous Pediatric critical care experience preferred
