Staff Accountant

Lakeside Foods is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the timeliness and accuracy of monthend close activities and financial statement preparation for company joint ventures. This role applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) while assisting with credit card administration, legal matters, and additional accounting functions including insurance, fixed assets, and tax reporting.

What You'll Do

• Perform joint venture accounting, including financial statements, budgets, cash flow, fiscal close activities, and tax schedules
• Administer the company credit card program
• Perform fixed asset accounting for assigned location(s)
• Support insurance administration for joint ventures and subsidiaries, including renewals, claims, and invoice processing
• Assist with monthend journal entries and financial reporting
• Process monthly Sales & Use tax filings and assist with annual tax schedules as assigned
• Assist with bank reconciliations
• Support company legal matters, including managing the legal inbox, maintaining listings of open agreements, and coordinating with internal departments and outside legal counsel
• Lead the 1099 process for joint ventures and provide oversight for subsidiary processes
• Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 1-3 years of accounting experience with demonstrated ability to apply accounting principles
• ERP system experience required; SAP experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheet navigation and data manipulation tools
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational and timemanagement skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work with personnel across the organization
• Ability to work collaboratively in a teamoriented environment
• Demonstrated ethics and integrity aligned with organizational values
