DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will serve as the project officer responsible for the implementation and oversight of State lead remediation projects, which includes contracting, budgeting, and contractor oversight. You will act as the project officer for all abandoned storage tank removal projects conducted by the Region and coordinate all the Regional storage tank site-specific installation permit review activities. In addition, you will be responsible for all aspects related to the implementation of the Regional aboveground storage tank program, act as the Regional expert for all corrosion protection issues related to aboveground and underground storage tanks, and coordinate the oversight activities for installation and monitoring of all private water treatment units installed through the Regional storage tank program. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days after required training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a journey-level specialist in a waste management program; or
- Two years of experience in environmental protection and a bachelor's degree with major course work in biology, chemistry, or in a field closely related to environmental protection. A master's degree with major course work in any of the fields closely related to environmental protection may be substituted for one year of the required experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges and abilities
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
