Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician II performs skilled, journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic systems within an industrial or manufacturing environment. This role supports the reliability and safety of electrical distribution systems, manufacturing equipment, and facility infrastructure. The position requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, experience with PLC systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused setting. Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems, including motors, controls, and alarm systems
- Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing and facility equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, and programmable systems
- Test and certify fire alarm and emergency electrical systems to ensure proper operation
- Perform electrical testing using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based systems and related controls
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to complete installations and repairs
- Monitor and coordinate work performed by external contractors to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance
- Safely operate tools, equipment, forklifts, and lifts in accordance with safety standards
- Perform work at heights, including ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with 5S standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with developing repair and installation specifications
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of or enrollment in a two-year technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, electronic theory, and power distribution
- Experience with CNC machinery and PLC systems required
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based equipment
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and resolve technical issues
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Work Experience
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or similar environments required
- Aerospace industry experience preferred
