DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will supervise maintenance crews and help complete important construction and repair work across Region 1 state parks. You will also operate heavy equipment, support staff, and make sure projects are completed safely and correctly.
- Crew Supervision: Lead the Region 1 Swing Crew, guide daily work, assign tasks, and support both skilled and unskilled staff.
- Staff Management: Interview applicants, recommend hires, review performance, handle grievances, and approve or deny leave.
- Equipment Operation: Use dozers, loaders, tractors, excavators, stump cutters, and chippers to build roads, dig trenches, clear debris, and complete park projects.
- Equipment Care: Perform scheduled maintenance on all assigned machinery to keep it safe and ready for use.
- Construction Work: Carry out building, mechanical, and electrical tasks to construct, repair, and maintain park buildings.
- Tool Use: Operate hand and power tools such as saws, drills, grinders, and measuring tools to complete a wide range of maintenance jobs.

- Full-time employment
- Shifts and days vary; employee will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include holidays and weekends.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Park Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience in two of the following: electrical trades, plumbing trades, carpentry trades, mechanical trades, water or wastewater treatment plant operations, or the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
