Your Job

As a Senior Accountant - Divisional Finance, you will play a key role supporting the Divisional Finance organization by partnering closely with Finance Business Partners (FBPs) to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial support. This role is highly customer-facing and focused on translating divisional finance needs into actionable accounting outputs, including month-end activities, flash reporting, and financial analysis. You will help create value for the business by investigating financial drivers, supporting decision-making, and continuously improving processes through data, systems, and automation.

LOCATION: This role will ideally sit in our Chicago, IL office, but can also work from the Lisle, IL headquarters.

Our Team

You will be part of a collaborative Regional Finance Team, working directly with FBPs to support divisional financial performance. This team acts as a trusted partner to the business, responding quickly to requests, providing clarity on financial results, and helping FBPs understand what is driving key variances.

The role offers exposure to divisional financial operations and close interaction with cross-functional finance teams, including Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and Global Business Services. The combination of analytical work, customer partnership, and process improvement provides strong opportunities for professional development and career growth.

What You Will Do

  • Partner closely with Finance Business Partners (FBPs) to support divisional financials, including monthly flash reports and ongoing financial analysis.
  • Prepare and post journal entries on behalf of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations, analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as a customer-facing accounting partner, taking requests from FBPs and translating them into timely, high-quality financial outputs.
  • Analyze general ledger activity to identify trends, issues, and drivers.
  • Investigate variances and provide clear explanations by pulling and analyzing data from multiple sources.
  • Leverage systems and data tools to improve reporting efficiency and turnaround time.
  • Collaborate with corporate accounting and other finance teams to ensure alignment with accounting policies and best practices.
  • Support ad hoc requests and special projects requiring rapid analysis and clear communication.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration
  • Progressive experience in finance and accounting functions
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP)
  • Proficiency with a large ERP, consolidation tools, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High integrity, results orientation, and ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a collaborative approach

What Will Put You Ahead

  • CPA
  • Exposure to global finance operations, especially in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Multinational company experience and foreign exchange familiarity
  • Experience with acquisitions and purchase price accounting
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with SAP and OneStream
  • Automation experience with Alteryx or similar tools
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills

For this role, we anticipate paying $90,000- $110,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
