This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.As part of a hardworking team of spacecraft development engineers, you will focus on the electrical power subsystem of our innovative space vehicles. This role is integral to the success of our missions, requiring a strong familiarity with spacecraft power systems, including batteries, solar arrays, power distribution, and conversion. Our ideal candidate is someone who not only excels in the design and development of electrical power system components but also demonstrates a profound commitment to our bold mission. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Contribute to the design and development of electrical power subsystem components including spacecraft batteries, solar arrays, efficient power distribution and conversion electronics, and wire harnessing. Develop and maintain electrical power subsystem component requirements and documentation. Contribute to detailed trade studies that result in selecting optimal mission-suitable subsystem hardware. Conduct thorough electrical module analyses, including Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), part stress analysis, signal integrity, power integrity, and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) Develop components that conform to the system power quality specification. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with the vehicle electrical power system components. Continuously update knowledge on latest industry trends and advancements in space vehicle power systems Collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary engineering teams, contributing to a culture of technical ambition and operational excellence. Contribute to technical artifacts for subsystem and program gated reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, etc.) Maintain an unwavering commitment to learning and improvement, willingly seeking and integrating feedback for personal and team growth. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field Minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering, at least two of which are specifically in space power systems. Proven experience with one or more of the following on at least one space vehicle program: batteries, solar arrays, power distribution, power conversion Strong background in electrical analysis techniques Experience working in cross-disciplinary engineering teams. A track record of taking ownership, showing resilience in the face of challenges, and consistently delivering results. A history of facing challenges with tenacity and resilience, showing an optimistic and determined attitude. Desired: Experience in system-level and circuit-level modeling and simulation Exceptional troubleshooting skills in complex electrical power systems Strong familiarity with system and component grounding architectures and methods Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $107,136.00 - $149,990.40Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
