Position Description To close first mortgage loan applications from the initial loan application through the loan closing process. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Your success with attaining and performing the required skills and abilities will be enhanced if they consist the following: Trainee: * One year experience processing and closing first mortgage loans or equity loans * Basic knowledge of mortgage lending requirements, regulations and procedures for VA and conventional loan programs * Ability to perform the major functions of the job efficiently and effectively * Two years experience processing and closing first mortgage loans * Thorough knowledge of mortgage lending requirements, regulations and procedures for VA and conventional loan programs * Ability to solve problems and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision and assistance Target: * Target Level: Ability to perform the major functions of the job effectively and efficiently Desired: * High school education * Knowledge of credit union practices and programs * Course work in mortgage, financial or business disciplines * Knowledge of automated systems, including UAD and Unifi Additions by Aerotek from meeting: Basic processors, all document deciphering and will have limited exposure to the customers. Will be some interaction with the customers and need to be comfortable with that. All candidates should have experience will nation wide variety of loans, not just specific to the state they are working in. Almost all work is being done on FHA and Conventional loans. Systems being used: Unifi ? mortgage processing AUS ? automated underwriting system UAD ? account balances 50% Interviews and counsels members, face-to-face and over the telephone. Takes first mortgage loan applications via face-to-face interview, mail, and over the telephone. Serves as back-up Counselor for the Call Center. Counseling includes: determining applicants qualifications; providing detailed information about the client's mortgage and equity loan products; clarifying complexities of the mortgage/equity loan process; and evaluating, personalizing, and recommending financing alternatives. Processes loans. Receives first mortgage loan applications via Automated Underwriting System (AUS). Reviews the application for completeness and integrity of loan data. Reviews the AUS recommendation to approve/refer. Analyzes AUS findings for approved loans. Determines applicable loan conditions and documentation requirements. Advises the member of loan conditions and documentation requirements. For referred loans, analyzes areas of concern and determines proper course of action (e.g., obtain explanations for derogatory credit). Prepares loan disclosures required by Federal/state laws (e.g., Good Faith Estimate, Truth-In-Lending). Obtains documentation needed to complete the processing of the loan in a timely manner (e.g., evidence of employment, income and assets). Follows up on unanswered requests for documentation. Reviews returned documents for accuracy and completeness. Correlates verified information with that provided on member's loan application (e.g., income, assets, liabilities). For AUS approved loans, certifies documentation meets the client's requirements and clears loan conditions. Reviews property appraisal report and certifies it meets the client's and investor requirements. Maintains contact with the member, Realtor and/or seller on loan progress; responds to inquiries and resolves problems regarding processing of the loan. Assures that the processing and loans are in compliance with Federal laws, and the client's, NCUA and secondary *Skills* customer service, data entry, inbound and outbound calls, call center, loans, banker, financial services, paralegal skills, accounts payable, accounting, administrative support, mortgage closing, executive administrative *Top Skills Details* customer service,data entry,inbound and outbound calls,call center *Additional Skills & Qualifications* min of 2 years of financial and/or banking experience-processing preferred *Experience Level* Entry Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pensacola, FL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $18.44 - $18.44/hr.
