Status: This is a full-time; hourly position
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 5:00am -2:00pm & Friday: 5:00am - 11:00am; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: The Off Line Mold Facilitator/Forklift Driver has three essential duties. The first is to facilitate the end to end processes for large off line molds. Second, the forklift driver enables the main molding lines and pour decks by just in time delivery and removal of supplies and waste generated in different parts of the process. Finally, the Off Line Mold Facilitator/Forklift Driver plays a traditional role in loading and unloading delivery trucks and maintaining/servicing specific equipment in the plant, outside and in the warehouse areas.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • Offline Mold Facilitator:
    • Select proper size large flask based on order.
    • Build off line or floor molds by shoveling large amounts of sand off the mold line, use large hammers to break apart large molds and cutting vents and risers off of hot castings; this process occurs 2-3 times per day.
    • Transfer floor molds and excess sand to the appropriate waste location as required.
  • Mold Line/Pour Deck Support:
    • Operate forklift in areas of limited space under a regimented sequence of duties to maintain production at desired pace, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols for work space and team members in the area.
    • Deliver supplies to the pour deck, such as ingots, scrap, zinc and molds.
    • Empty sand scales and dump waste outside.
  • Traditional Forklift/Maintenance Work:
    • Maintain sand mauler and transporter function.
    • Maintain dust collector barrels, bags and paint fillers.
    • Load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring that the packing slips match the load, approximately 3-4 times per day.
    • Stock and maintain inventory supplies.
    • Transfer products between the plant and the warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Six months Mold Line experience and three months forklift operation.
  • Must obtain forklift certification through classroom and practical examination (training and certification provided by Coldspring for all employees who may be required to operate a forklift).
  • Ability to judge distances, heights, weights and surroundings (machines, personnel and other vehicles) to safely maneuver forklift and crane.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
  • General math skills.
  • Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
  • Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
