The Material Acquisition Specialist serves as a pivotal liaison between TTI and a designated strategic customer, ensuring seamless inventory management, material planning, and MRP functions. This role is performed on-site based on customer requirements. By delivering exceptional customer service and facilitating the efficient flow of materials, this role is key to optimizing operational efficiency and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Our Material Acquisition Specialist:
- Provides excellent customer service by responding promptly to customer requests for pricing, quotes, delivery schedules, and inventory movement as well as address and resolve customer inquiries, challenges and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Facilitates all aspects of the order cycle by working with Product Managers and Buyers to ensure accuracy, quality standards, and objectives are achieved.
- Creates sales quotes for new products in a timely manner for the customer by working with the Product Managers and Buyers.
- Verifies customer orders are processed correctly and confirms all value-add services are included. Ensures that purchase orders are expedited.
- Determines future purchasing needs by working with the customer's Sourcing Engineering team and communicates the information with TTI's internal Product Managers and Buyers.
- Manages customer part numbers within the TTI inventory management system and ensures they are properly entered into the TTI KROS database.
- Partners closely with Field Sales Representative and Sales Management to expand account penetration and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Works through the Exostar System to process blanket orders and blanket order changes.
- Processes and analyzes weekly and bi-weekly forecasts submitted by our customer for location(s) to ensure their parts are entered into the TTI KROS Inventory Management System.
- Processes contract changes for all MRP-related items.
- Handles ITAR approval of products and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Manages the set-up of all new part adds.
- Participates in the TTI Total Quality Process by following established policies and procedures.
- Manages inventory by running reports and analyzing the information reported to keep current on the customer's MRP/EDI inventory needs, along with monitoring inventory discrepancies. Investigates inventory discrepancies through physical counts, system reviews, and reconciliation processes between TTI and customer systems. Serves as the primary contact for inventory issues.
- Ensure that existing inventory is moved to the proper locations to avoid late deliveries.
- Verifies that the appropriate harmonizing codes for the location(s) have been submitted for approval.
- Reviews the previous day's sales for potential inventory shortages and requests the movement of parts from the primary TTI warehouse to our local storeroom locations.
- Creates and approves Inventory Control Stock Transfers (ICST) to move material in advance of the automated MRP as needed.
- Monitors aged inventory levels and facilitates actions to mitigate surplus or obsolescence.
- Monitors the remaining supply of parts from the previous contract to ensure they are all consumed before supplying and issuing parts from the new contract awards.
- Control and monitor cycle counts, full inventory checks, and ensure compliance with established inventory policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Degree from a four-year University or Technical College preferred or two or more years of inventory management, material planning, or customer service-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to type 40 words per minute preferred.
