Description

This Finance & Accounting Internship will provide exposure to all areas of the Accounting and Finance Department. There will be an opportunity to work on tasks related to the general ledger and regulatory requirements for the bank. At the conclusion of the internship, candidates will have a better understanding of how accounting/finance/investment education is applied in the workplace. Learning opportunities will include:



  • Reviewing financial profitability model inputs, allocation, and aggregation methodologies to understand basis, and reviewing for more accurate opportunities to adequately allocate profitability throughout the organization.
  • Applying statistical analysis to datasets for viability of use in newly acquired machine learning and automated insight tools, to understand opportunities such tools may present.
  • Preparing daily General Ledger accounting reconciliations, as well as being exposed to month-end and quarter-end processes.
  • Working with the Treasury Team to understand the bank's investment practices and how those practices are affected through Asset Liability Management solutions.


Qualifications:



  • College degree/major in Accounting or Finance or Business
  • Some exposure to Accounting preferred


Skills:



  • Analytical, business acumen, and diligence
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to do simple math and carry out instructions
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Lifting in an office setting my be required up to 30 lbs.
