Are you passionate about collaborating with external partners and seeing new insights progress through the stages of prototyping and development? Do you find developing and inspiring others to reach their maximum potential rewarding? If so, we're looking for someone like you to join the Human Centered Design Group (A5E) leadership team. We are seeking a strong leader and creative thinker to lead a team of researchers, designers, and engineers in the A5E-4 Digital Design and Prototyping Section. The A5E-4 Section Supervisor will lead A5E-4 and assist the A5E Group and Assistant Group Supervisors in leading our team to apply Human Centered Design (HCD) methodologies toward tackling complex national security challenges. The A5E-4 Section Supervisor will be responsible for cultivating the group's competencies in digital product development, early-stage rapid prototyping, and user testing. The A5E-4 Section Supervisor is also expected to maintain and expand the portfolio of internal and external prototypers that partner with the Human Centered Design Group. This includes being responsible for the development and testing of novel solutions and delivering roadmaps to refine concepts to the fidelity vital to transition them to an execution partner or the sponsor. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
