Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI)is looking for a
Principal Modeling & Simulations Engineer/Analystthat possesses a solid working knowledge and experience base in development and production of multi-fidelity simulation capabilities for weapon systems.This includes working directly with customers, study leads, and model developers to create and execute analysis plans in various simulation environments, including AFSIM, SUPPRESSOR, EADSim, and other mission and engagement level models.
You will replicate systems or concepts under consideration for various operational scenarios using concepts of operation and behaviors. The position will include collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer. Additionally, you will define bounds for run matrix execution, carry out run execution, and perform analysis of results. You will work with a study team as well asindependently and assist less experienced team members with technical tasks, career development, and professional growth.
The ideal candidate is a systems engineer and analyst with hands-on experience designing, developing, and building and integrating MS&A models to support lifecycle planning, predictive analytics, and mission validation usingstate-of-the-artsimulation environments.Candidate must have good people skills and desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and analysts.
This position requires 100% customer location work (Eglin AFB, FL)-Work from home opportunities may be possible but are limited with this position.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide mission-level modeling execution using simulation frameworks like the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).
- Support special studies as needed to include experimental efforts showing concept feasibility, analysis, data integration, and software development for communication technologies.
- Provide excellent customer support and demonstrate an ability to communicate with all levels of leadership and/or customers.
- Develop, apply, and evaluate advanced technologies that highlight concept solutions across multiple domains (air, land, sea, space) and mission areas.
- ProficiencyinAFSIM, MATLAB, Python, or other advanced simulation tools to deliver validated models and benchmarking analysis.
- Provide technical integration and implementation of other system simulation tools (e.g. ground and air vehicle six-degree-of-freedom, sensor/detector hardware) to analyze mission-level communication technologies captured in AFSIM and OneSAF.
- Lead efforts in defining study questions to address areas of concern and translate them into analysis plans.
- Develop models in physics simulation frameworks to represent system performance and behaviors.
- Perform verification and validation of simulation input, output and results.
- Develop run matrices and lead a study team to conduct simulation runs and produce output.
- Post-process data into measures of merit and effectiveness to support the analysis plan objectives.
- Lead interpretation of model results and development of presentations to deliver findings and conclusions to the customer in support of their analytical objectives.
- Ensure quality of modeling & simulation products, including briefings for stakeholders/customers.
- Build & deliver metrics-based products and executive-level presentations and assist in producing simulation-driven visualizations. Document and deliver simulation results, technical approaches, and process insights to program stakeholders and mission partners.Develop and implement strategies to integrate Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital twins, and advanced simulation tools into engineering workflows.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of digital engineering platforms and technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with organizational goals.
- Provide mentorship and training to engineering teams to enhance their digital engineering proficiency.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive.
- Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and processes for Operational Analysis, systems engineering and digital engineering.
- A basic understanding of aerospace system functions and dynamics, and how to model them, such as detailed sub-system models and flight dynamics models.
- Demonstrate abilities to lead engineering teams, solve difficult hardware and software integration challenges, and manage small projects. The candidate must be a motivated self-starter who is able to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment, often with minimal guidance and within rigid timelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, operations research, computer science, data science, or a similar field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master of Science/Master of Engineering (MS/ME) degree in engineering, mathematics, operations research, computer science, data science, or a similar field is highly desired with 12+ years of relevant experience.
Clearance Requirements:
- Top Secret
- Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
