Enterprise Data Cybersecurity Engineer, Lead

The Opportunity:

Principally responsible for Booz Allen Hamilton's Data cybersecurity solution design, strategy, and effectiveness. This includesparticipatingin shaping Booz Allen's Data cybersecurity capabilities worldwide by collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop a business-wide converged technological security strategy. This strategy will drive the future security roadmap for Booz Allen's Data cybersecurity stack, data protection programs, and go-to-market platform protection models.

In this role, you will be accountable for the data cyber solution stack, ensure data protection controls are appropriately configured, and continually reduce data cybersecurity risk. You will ensure data platforms, such as cloud data platforms, data lakes, databases, and storage systems, and their configurations across production, test, and extended enterprise environments meet Booz Allen Hamilton's security standards. This includes developing and promoting configuration policy changes in partnership with data engineering and platform teams,monitoringcompliance, performing regular assessments toidentifyand remediate deviations, and working closely with stakeholders to promote a strong data security culture.

You will originate,facilitate, and lead IT and security teams' efforts to deploy andmaintaindata protection solutions, ensuring that data controls, such as encryption, tokenization, masking, and key management, are properly implemented to defend against emerging threats. Yourexpertisein data security configuration management will be crucial inmaintaininga secure and resilient data ecosystem. Additionally, partner with cyber threat and security operations to drive threat-informed data protection strategies.

Perform security reviews based on the security stack philosophies and standards, with a primary responsibility for leading data security outcomes in collaboration with technical sector experts. Provide an integrated security ecosystem to deter, detect, defend, and respond to business-impacting security, operational security, and risk issues related to data protection and data lifecycle management. Leverage skills in independently conducting technical analysis of security and business problems, including threats, incidents, investigations, workforce protection, and other generalsecurity-related issues involving sensitive data. Communicate and coordinate response and defensive actions across multiple security disciplines,disseminatingtechnical information asappropriate insupport of Booz Allen Hamilton's critical business, go-to-market, and operational infrastructure needs.Thispositionis located inMcLean, VA.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience managing data platforms or data-centric IT solutions, including databases, data lakes, and cloud data environments

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity solutions such as encryption, key management, data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, securing structured and unstructured data, including database security, data storage protection, and data lifecycle management

  • Knowledge of cloud-native data architectures and security controls, including AWS, Azure, or GCP data services, such as S3, Redshift,BigQuery, Azure Data Lake, and associated data access models and governance controls

  • Knowledge of modern encryption standards, key management systems (KMS), and emerging technologies such as quantum-resistant cryptography

  • Knowledge of key data-centric cyber threats including data exfiltration, insider threats, ransomware, and advanced persistent threats targeting sensitive data

  • Knowledge of key cyber processes such as security incident handling, data risk posture measurement, change management, data governance, policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance

  • Ability to integrate disparate data security solutions across system, network, application, and cloud architectures, including integration via APIs and native cloud services

  • Ability to collaborate with the professional confidence and credibility to effectively engage and interact with technologists and leaders across the enterprise

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages used in data environments, such as Python or SQL

  • Experience with data governance frameworks, data classification standards, and privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA

  • Knowledge of database structures, data modeling, and query optimization, including SQL and NoSQL platforms

  • Knowledge of the application of Artificial Intelligence in data security and anomaly detection

  • Ability to design, deploy, andmaintaindata security solutions in enterprise-scale environments with large volumes of sensitive and regulated data

  • IT Engineering or Security, such as CISSP, CCSP, CDPSE, or cloud security Certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
