Principal Solutions Architect - Data & Analytics

Overview

Join OST's Data & Analytics practice, where you'll lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions across DoD, IC, Federal Civilian, and SLED customers. This role blends solution architecture, proposal leadership, and hands-on technical engagement-giving you the opportunity to shape strategy while driving real-world impact.

Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:



  • Lead the design and positioning of data, analytics, and cloud solutions in support of RFx efforts and mission needs
  • Serve as a technical lead on proposals, contributing to solution architecture, technical writing, and presentations
  • Engage with executive and technical stakeholders to present solutions and align capabilities with mission objectives
  • Collaborate across engineering, business development, and customer teams to deliver scalable, enterprise solutions
  • Support digital transformation efforts, including cloud migration, data platform modernization, and zero trust initiatives
  • Provide hands-on support with data analytics, orchestration, and platform implementation as needed
  • Participate in program reviews, performance analysis, and issue resolution across customer environments
  • Travel as needed to support customer engagements and program activities (CONUS and OCONUS)



Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):



  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, data, analytics, or cloud solutioning, including leadership in complex environments
  • Proven experience leading RFx/proposal efforts, including solution design, technical writing, and customer presentations
  • Strong background in data architecture and analytics, including data governance, engineering, integration, and ETL processes
  • Experience designing and delivering solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud)
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, SAS, Collibra, Tableau, or similar technologies
  • Experience supporting DoD, IC, or Federal environments, including familiarity with ATO processes (IL4-IL6 or similar)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both executive and technical audiences
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and customer stakeholders
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Secret clearance preferred (eligible required)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)



Nice to Have:



  • Experience with emerging technologies (AI/ML, Digital Twins, Quantum, etc.)
  • Cloud or data platform certifications (AWS, Azure, Databricks, SAS, etc.)
  • Prior experience supporting FAA programs or NAS systems (ERAM, STARS, TBFM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with FAA architecture, AMS/JRC processes, or AIT environments
