Basic Job Functions:

Automate data analysis workflows and communicate results with other engineers. Support 3rd party questions about test/normalization procedures and new test/equipment development consisting of concept development, specification development, experimentation, gauge R&R and data analysis. Support new plant expansion efforts. Project management consisting of equipment layout, scheduling, ordering, and start up support. Support existing equipment performance and reliability including solar simulators, environmental chambers, and laboratory measurement equipment.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical, chemical or mechanical engineering with at least 2-3 years of experience in testing.
  • 2-year technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Maintenance field with at least 12-15 years of experience in testing.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • MS Excel, Access, and Power Point experience (Intermediate level required. Advanced level desired).
  • Preferred SQL express (database) experience.
  • Preferred JMP (statistical) software experience.
  • Preferred visual basic programming experience.
  • Ability to learn the detailed operation and component functions of solar simulators, environmental chambers, measurement instruments and other related equipment required.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must be motivated to work independently.
  • Must be able to demonstrate problem solving ability.
  • Must have strong organization skills.
  • Basic to advanced experience using electro-mechanical test and measurement equipment desired.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of various measurement techniques.
  • Preferred Python experience

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Automate monitoring of machine and tests
  • Design testing procedures for new module technologies (tandem, bifacial)
  • Statistical analysis of results between different types of machines
  • Update data correction scripts based on performance & operation of machines.
  • Interact with Reliability/Production daily weekly operations and plan accordingly.
  • Responsible for existing laboratory equipment performance and reliability.
  • Statistical data analysis.
  • Write work/test instructions.
  • On time execution of test plans including sample acquiring, testing, & data analysis.
  • Prepare summary reports for test development/improvement investigations.
  • Participate in Reliability and Test meetings where presentation of data may be required.
  • Responsible for Reliability lab plant expansions.
  • Utilities and equipment layout
  • Communication/Planning with various expansion groups
  • Equipment purchasing
  • Equipment qualification
  • Plant startup support
  • Assist with new equipment/test development and qualification testing.
  • Assist with the different in-house and outdoors module reliability testing and activities.
  • Maintain effective verbal and written communications.

Reporting Relationships:

  • This position will report to Group Leader, Test Operations

Travel:

  • 0-5% travel is required.

Estimated Salary Range:

  • $68,800 - $95,000 Estimated Annual Salary

US Physical Requirements:

  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
  • Will exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push or pull on a seldom basis.
  • Will lift, push, or pull up to 27 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Will lift up to 51 pounds on an occasional basis, according to work instructions.
  • Will lift up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Will push or pull up to 27 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
  • Will push or pull up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
  • 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)
  • All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair)
