Belden is seeking a Buyer to join our team in Carmel, IN supporting the Broadband Solutions business. This role plays a key part in supporting our strategic Cable and Plastics categories. In this position, you will manage daily procurement activities, including processing requisitions and performing MRP analysis to meet cost, delivery, and inventory objectives in support of our manufacturing operations. You will also collaborate closely with a wide range of cross-functional team including Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Strategic Procurement, making this a highly visible and impactful role within the organization.

This is an onsite position with a hybrid option and reports to the Director of Procurement for Broadband Solutions.

You will make a difference in the following ways:



  • Execute daily procurement activities for direct materials and engineering samples to support production schedules and new product introduction within our Cable and Plastics categories.
  • Review and process purchase requisitions, manage purchase orders, and perform MRP analysis to ensure timely material availability while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Communicate requirements and specifications to suppliers and work closely with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve routine quality and delivery issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers, managing order confirmations, delivery schedules, and expediting as needed to support operations.
  • Monitor supplier performance on delivery and quality, support issue resolution, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in coordination with cross-functional teams.



What you bring:



  • Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering with five (5) years of relevant work experience interacting with Contract Manufacturers. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Industry Knowledge - Experience in procuring mechanical components, coax cable, electronic assemblies, plastic injection molded parts, stampings, rubber seals, printed circuit boards, and electronic components.
  • General Knowledge & Skills - Experienced user of Excel, Outlook, and SAP ERP/MRP system; Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment



Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $65,000 - $90,000 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
