DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Vector Control Specialist, you will control and suppress insects, rodents, birds, and other vector pests. You will use herbicides to keep grounds free of unwanted, noxious, and invasive vegetation. Work includes inspecting nesting areas, applying pesticides, and using traps to control infestation. This role requires regular removal of sanitary wastes to prevent infestations, collecting disease carrying vectors for identification, and maintaining safe storage of equipment and chemicals. In addition, you will use boring equipment, perform snow removal, and follow safety protocols at all times. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week
- Work hours: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess a current certificate for Pesticide Applications as issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for, industrial, institutional, structural and public health related pest control; or be able to obtain this certificate within six months of the date of hire.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a Class C non-commercial driver's license.
- You must pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
