POSITION SPECIFICS

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science seeks an Academic Program Coordinator to support the Department of Electrical Engineering at Penn State. The successful candidate will support the Director of Academic Affairs, the Administrative Manager, the Department Head and as needed, the Academic Program Coordinator (within the department of Computer Science and Engineering).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Department of Electrical Engineering undergraduate needs and provide routine phone and email correspondence to outside parties (students, families, businesses, etc.)

  • Conduct degree audits, assist with semester graduation lists, and process student petitions

  • Schedule and reserve classrooms

  • Enter grades and co-op reports

  • Schedule and reschedule exams, including scheduling evening exams with faculty members

  • Perform routine office duties, including typing and sending emails and written correspondence, filing, copying, shredding, maintaining pertinent materials on hand, and scheduling appointments

  • Assist with organizing promotional events (Summer Camp, high school visits, and others as needed)

  • Assist with the awarding of undergraduate scholarships

  • Serve as backup for Undergraduate duties within the Department of Computer Science and Engineering

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

This position is expected to be fully in person through the fall 2026 semester. After that period, a hybrid schedule may be considered, with a minimum requirement of three days per week on campus.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
