We are seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel to lead legal support for our Credit Risk Solutions Business. This senior legal leader will oversee complex solutions and product support, provide strategic legal counsel to executive stakeholders, manage legal risk across business initiatives, and guide a team of attorneys in the credit risk solutions space. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in regulated environments, extensive knowledge of the FCRA and GLBA, a proactive approach to risk mitigation, and a collaborative mindset to drive business success.

What You'll Bring:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited school required.

  • Qualified candidates must have an active license to practice law and be in good standing in the applicable state(s) of employment by the position start date (or as otherwise permitted by state rules).

  • At all times of employment, qualified candidates must remain in good standing and maintain an active license to practice law in their applicable state(s) of employment.

  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, including at least 6 years supporting regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a solutions business and advising senior executives.
  • Expertise in solution and product support, commercial contracting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of laws and regulations relevant to financial services and data-driven businesses.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Executive-level communication and advocacy capabilities.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with a global footprint.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdiction.

Impact You'll Make:

  • Serve as a senior legal advisor to executive leadership, providing strategic guidance on legal, regulatory, and business matters.
  • Lead and manage a small team of attorneys or legal professionals, fostering development, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Oversee the support of all products for Credit Risk Solutions including expansion into new areas of alternative data and potential international expansion of TruIQ solutions
  • Serve as the Cross Functional Leader for Credit Risk Solutions representing the legal team
  • Draft new contract templates for new products as they are approved
  • Anticipate legal risks and develop mitigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance matters, including FCRA, GLBA, ECOA
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, product, technology, and business teams to support innovation and growth.
  • Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business.
  • Engage and manage outside counsel for specialized legal matters or litigation support.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of legal ethics and professionalism.

    This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

    Pay Scale Information : The U.S. base salary range for this position is $168,750.00 - $281,250 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual's education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion's annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
