Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE: Supports instructional design activities while gaining hands-on experience with Promega's training development systems, processes, and team culture. Assists with developing training materials and contributing to evaluation activities to build foundational instructional design skills. Contributes to evolving instructional design practices by exploring practical applications of emerging tools, including AI, within structured workflows to enhance learner experiences. CORE DUTIES: 1. Assists with the design and development of training materials, including activities, learner support materials, and instructor guides for classroom, online, and blended training programs. 2. Contributes background research and content gathering to inform training design decisions. 3. Creates and edits training content using e-learning authoring tools, multimedia editing tools, design applications, and AI-enabled tools. Builds familiarity with instructional design principles and models. 4. Assists with development of assessments, surveys, and other evaluation tools. Supports organization of evaluation data to inform continuous improvement efforts. 5. Uses instructional technologies such as LMS platforms, e-learning authoring tools, polling and survey tools, web conferencing platforms, and AI-enabled applications to support training design, development, and delivery. Explores practical applications of AI tools to enhance storyboarding, content drafting, visual design, and interactive learning components. 6. Collaborates with instructional designers and subject matter experts to support development of training materials and learning activities. 7. Accurately tracks assigned tasks and timelines for project components, demonstrating attention to detail and accountability. 8. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others. 9. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Enrollment in an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's program, preferably in education, instructional design, instructional technology, communications, or a related field, with interest in applying instructional design within a biotechnology environment. 2. Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates openness to feedback and willingness to learn from others. 3. Demonstrates reliability, attention to detail, creativity, and professionalism. 4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and collaborate effectively with instructional designers and subject matter experts. 5. Models curiosity, respect, and responsibility while learning about Promega's values and workplace expectations. 6. Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and technology, including Microsoft applications and mobile platforms, with the ability to adapt and leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, automation, and collaboration. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Coursework or experience in instructional design, training development, or adult learning theory. 2. Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline), LMS platforms, multimedia editing tools (e.g., Canva, Vyond, SnagIt), or similar applications. 3. Familiarity with AI tools and demonstrated curiosity about automation and technology in learning and development. 4. Experience or interest in the life sciences or biotechnology field. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to use computers, tablets, mobile devices, and A/V equipment for extended periods of time. 2.
