The Division of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Georgia advances the goals, objectives, and priorities of the university by generating private financial support, building, and maintaining relationships with alumni and donors, and assisting students with career development opportunities.
Office of Gift & Estate Planning
We meet. We visit. We show gratitude. Helping alumni and friends of the university plan their charitable giving to ensure UGA's future is our mission. Our department provides expertise for those who are looking to make a long-lasting impact. Providing donors with different giving options like leaving the University of Georgia Foundation in their will, setting up a charitable gift annuity, or leaving us a portion of their retirement assets, to name a few. With more than 1,200 Heritage Society members, we are endlessly grateful for those who have chosen to make a planned gift. |

| Position Summary |
Reporting to the Senior Director of Gift and Estate Planning, this position leads all marketing and stewardship projects, initiatives, and programming for the Office of Gift & Estate Planning (
GEP). This includes taking the lead in implementing new programs and executing existing and new policies and procedures for prospect tracking, individual donor relation plans, and marketing efforts, managing events such as the Heritage Society Tailgate, and creating a comprehensive communication plan for donors, prospects, industry professionals (financial planners, attorneys, accountants), and internal stakeholders. This position serves as the
GEP liaison for the Development & Alumni Relations Communications Department (DARComm) and all vendors working with
GEP. |

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complicated gift planning concepts to donors, professional advisors, and internal constituents
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, assess priorities, and track details in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to plan an event and ensure that all details are scheduled in an appropriate advanced manner, all vendors are scheduled and paid within a fixed budget

Marketing & Communications for Gift & Estate Planning
Marketing Strategy & Project Leadership
- Lead all Gift & Estate Planning (GEP) marketing communication efforts and projects, including appeals, stewardship, newsletters, industry professional communications, and website content.
- Direct special design efforts to ensure all logos, graphics, and materials are universityapproved, compliant with charitable solicitation laws, and aligned with UGA branding and campaign messaging.
- Analyze constituent records and develop market segmentation data for enhancing effectiveness of all marketing campaigns.
Print & Production Management
- Lead all print and communication projects for GEP.
- Collaborate with the division's Communications Department (DARComm) on concepts and strategies to ensure branding and messaging consistency.
- Obtain quotes from design and print vendors; maintain and develop vendor relationships.
- Coordinate with up to 30 or more fundraising units to gather content and graphics.
- Manage print vendor logistics, including variable data considerations.
- Monitor and process invoices related to marketing and print projects to ensure timely payment.
Professional Advisor Communications
- Draft and design materials specifically targeted to professional advisors.
- Coordinate with the Trust and Estates Coordinator to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and consistency of language and messaging.
Marketing Systems & Distribution
- Create marketing efforts within the Giving and Alumni Information Link (GAIL) system.
- Export distribution lists to print vendors using the UGA SendFiles platform.
- Maintain and update the GAIL calendar to reflect mail and distribution dates.
Educational Resources
- Oversee and maintain the GEP resource library for Development Officers and professional advisors.
- Collaborate with DARComm to update and refresh resource materials as needed to reflect current gift vehicles and strategies.
