| Position Summary |
An Administrative Manager I/Academic Advising Coordinator manages, develops, and evaluates a portfolio of college-wide advising services to ensure student success, retention, and timely degree completion. They act as a bridge between administration, students, and faculty. Their primary responsibilities are developing advisors, interpreting policies, and communicating best practices to students and partners.
Additionally, the person in this position will directly supervise a divisional area advising team. The Physical & Mathematical Sciences divisional area advising team supports eight departments and all associated programs. The team consists of 8 advisors spread across multiple locations.
The person in this position is responsible for addressing issues and solving problems within their assigned portfolio. Key responsibilities include responding to student and parent inquiries via email and phone, advising students, serving as a resource to academic departments, overseeing assessment activities, and developing both short- and long-term goals for their portfolio areas.
The person in this position will supervise advisors, participate in committees, organize and lead meetings as needed, and prepare a divisional area summary for the Dean's Office annual report. |

- Oversee the daily operations of the divisional advising area
- Develop and implement advising procedures and best practices
- Help plan and facilitate advising assessment activities
- Serve as a liaison between advising, academic departments, faculty, the Dean's Office, the Registrar's Office and student support units
- Assist departments in answering and clarifying academic advising questions
- Communicate curriculum changes, policy updates, and academic deadlines to advisors
- Participate in institutional committees
