National Grid is hiring a Instructor (Gas technical training) for Talent Management and Development at the Millbury Training Center in Massachusetts.

Job Purpose

To deliver high quality learning experiences that meet gas clients' technical, regulatory and safety learning needs through a blended learning approach and support the design and development of learning solutions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Deliver technical training programs to gas clients through a blended learning approach (theory & practical)- Conduct Annual Expert Training (AET), Operator Qualification reviews and gas CMS progression schools.
  • Utilize Operator Qualification Aging reports to ensure that employees receive appropriate and relevant training.
  • Exhibit willingness to learn and teach new curriculum
  • Conduct training on gas equipment, (theory and hands-on practical), demonstrate company approved methods of gas installations to field personnel.
  • Liaise with the gas client and develop strong relationships with yard coordinators, schedulers, and supervisors as a trusted learning partner
  • Conduct assessments of training needs associated with the introduction of procedures and technology to ensure best practices into learning methods and programs (Example Electronic Pre-assessments, knowledge checks)
  • Support the design and development of cohesive and innovative curriculum and training programs for gas clients. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (Example E-learning modules)
  • Work in conjunction with Pipeline Safety Management to ensure that all students are well prepared to be tested for Operator Qualifications in a timely manner
  • Utilize Roll Call system for attendance and schedule classes in the LMS learning management system ("Scheduled Offerings")
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of direct gas experience is required
  • Familiarity with gas regulation & procedures such as Federal DOT 192 CFR, Massachusetts 220 CMR, CMS fitting, meter installation, leak grading, regulators and leak investigation.
  • Excellent knowledge of gas related equipment such as meters, headers, CGI, fittings, regulators, valves
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, I-pad, word, excel etc.
  • Gas customer meter operations experience highly preferred
  • Experience in directly managing a field work force (union) highly preferred
  • Must be able to work in emergency assignments when required by company

Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 a year
