STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Landscape & Facilities Tech II performs advanced landscape maintenance and facility upkeep, supervises Landscape & Facilities Tech staff, and ensures all preventive maintenance and documentation are completed according to RJKCCC standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of (3) years experience in landscaping, including turf and sprinkler control systems.
  • Minimum of (2) years experience in building cleaning, basic maintenance, and repair.
  • Must have and maintain a valid AZ state driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Service-oriented team player with the ability to maintain a positive attitude while interacting with Kroc employees, guests, and the public.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English (bilingual English/Spanish preferred).
  • Landscaping Expertise: Turf management, sod replacement, irrigation troubleshooting, pest/disease control, seeding, scalping, over-seeding, vegetation pruning, and sports field preparation.
  • Facility Maintenance: Cleaning, minor repair, event setup, and equipment upkeep.
  • Tools & Equipment: Safe operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of gas trimmers, mowers, chainsaws, and hand tools.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisory & Administrative



  • Supervise Landscape & Facilities Tech staff and coordinate daily assignments.
  • Document all preventive maintenance for equipment; report any deficiencies to the Facilities Director.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and equipment; verify items are in safe, usable condition and reorder as needed.
  • Attend mandator Facilities meetings as scheduled by the Facilities Director.
  • Ensure compliance with RJKCCC landscaping schedules and maintenance standards.


Landscaping Operations



  • Maintain sports field and landscape areas to organizational standards.
  • Mark and paint sports fields in accordance with facility event schedules.
  • Performs landscape maintenance including trimming, drip system replacement, watering schedules, tree trimming, and plant replacement.
  • Supervise and assist with seasonal turf seeding and over-seeding.
  • Apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides safely according to regulations.
  • Identify and address turf or plant diseases and pest infestations.
  • Install and maintain sprinkler systems; calculate water pressure, valve, and pipe coverage needs.
  • Ensure proper removal and disposal of landscape waste.
  • Haul bulk trash using maintenance truck and trailer as directed.


Facility & Event Support



  • Check event schedules and work orders daily.
  • Collaborate with the Rentals and Events team to ensure all event-related landscape and facilities needs are met.
  • Assist with custodial duties, building repairs, and general maintenance as directed.


General Duties



  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment for employees, guests, and members.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with staff, management, and divisional personnel.
  • Perform other assignments and duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate a telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
