C&S Waste Solutions of Lassen County, LLC, a Waste Connections Company, is looking for a Sustainability Outreach Coordinator to join their team!

Location: Susanville, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends

Starting Pay: $25-$27 per hour

Position Overview

The Sustainability & Outreach Coordinator supports community wastereduction initiatives and leads public education efforts related to recycling, organics, construction and demolition materials, and general waste diversion. This role works closely with local businesses, schools, community organizations, and residents to promote sustainable waste practices.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, coordinate, and deliver education and outreach programs for businesses, schools, multifamily residences, and the general public.

* Conduct waste and recycling audits, respond to customer inquiries, and provide guidance on recycling procedures.

* Present to groups of various ages, including classroom presentations and guided facility tours.

* Plan, coordinate, and participate in community recycling events and public outreach activities.

* Work independently in the field to implement outreach initiatives and track progress.

* Support special sustainability projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Knowledge of local recycling systems, wastereduction practices, and environmental sustainability.

* Experience planning and implementing community events or educational programs.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic graphics software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop).

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to both small and large audiences.

* Ability to manage multiple projects, work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly to changing needs.

* Organized, selfmotivated, and able to work effectively under pressure.

* Ability to read, interpret, and understand contracts, service agreements, and regulatory documents.

* Demonstrated experience completing projects independently from start to finish.
