The Salvation Army's Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Division is located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The division is home to 26 Worship and Community Centers (Corps), 67 service extension units, a camp, as well as multiple homeless shelters, thrift stores and food pantries. Service extension units are branches of The Salvation Army in communities where Corps are not located but service is provided by committees of volunteers. As a whole, our organization is made up of thousands of officers, soldiers, adherents, employees, volunteers and other individuals all working together to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, as well as working to meet the physical needs of those less fortunate. The Divisional Accountant will assist the Divisional Controller in developing, implementing and monitoring all Divisional Fund accounting and financial functions.

About the role:



  • Maintains systems and procedures for agency financial and administrative operations.
  • Prepares, analyzes and submits required financial reports, statements and statistics for internal and external use.
  • Coordinates, prepares and presents operating budgets. Estimates, analyzes and updates financial projections and cash flows.
  • Documents and reports all income and expenditures related to agency programs. Maintains ledgers, journals and files for reporting as required.
  • Maintains contact with individuals in outside groups (e.g. auditors and banks).
  • Maintain and monitor Corps Reserves and all activity and related transactions. Follow up with Corps on any corrections or questions.
  • Provide support to Regional Accounting Supervisor during training, vacations, audits, and the consolidation process.


Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with approval to drive from TSA insurance

Experience: 3 years of experience in accounting; supervisory experience preferred.
