Position summary: The Quality Improvement Data Analyst in the Healthcare Data Engineering department partners with the Quality Improvement and Compliance Committee to support improvement initiatives through data analysis and reporting. This role develops performance indicators, builds data systems, and delivers insights to drive strategic decision-making and enhance clinical and operational outcomes. Key responsibilities Partner with Healthcare Engineering leadership, clinical teams, and executive sponsors to define analytic objectives aligned with patient safety and operational goals Collect, integrate, and manage complex datasets from clinical, operational, and technical sources Design and execute analytic frameworks to evaluate interactions between systems, workflows, and human behavior Translate clinical and engineering questions into structured data requirements, analyses, and actionable insights Lead data analysis for initiatives involving clinical environments, infrastructure systems, and performance metrics Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytic models to track performance, trends, and improvement opportunities Analyze and report on performance indicators using statistical and epidemiological techniques Build and maintain reliable data repositories to support quality improvement and evaluation efforts Monitor trends over time to assess performance, sustainability, and risk Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinicians, engineers, IT, legal, and operations Support quality improvement initiatives, clinical guidelines, and risk management efforts Produce clear, executive-ready reports, visualizations, and presentations Contribute to the development of analytic standards and best practices across Healthcare Engineering Minimum qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in health policy, Health Management, or a related field with coursework in biostatistics and data management Experience: 0-1 year of experience in a healthcare or related setting preferred Preferred: Ability to organize and manage high-volume data Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and Macros Experience identifying trends in data Basic statistical knowledge or experience using tools such as SPSS or R Experience with spot audits is a plus Self-motivated and proactive approach to work Strong presentation skills Curiosity and interest in learning more about data and analytics Schedule: M-F, full time, Hybrid (project dependent) Boston Children's Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, child care and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
