POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for analyzing credit and financial reports to determine risk involved in lending or extending credit to the Credit Union's business members with a primary focus on smaller loans as well as preparing portfolio reports related to the commercial loan portfolio as requested.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Embrace Servant Leadership philosophy of leading from your position to promote the success of the Department as well as the overall Verve Team.
  • Ensure all credit union policies, procedures and regulations are followed.
  • Complete routine, periodic annual credit reviews, as assigned.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio reports at pre-set time requirements along with any other reports that Management requests.
  • Drive the credit approval process from receiving required information to completed credit presentation with a focus on secured loans under $1,000,000.
  • Independently analyze and assess the risk profile of business loans, ultimately providing a recommendation.
  • Suggest and craft custom loan conditions and covenants as a way of mitigating perceived risk profiles.
  • Work as a member of a team, successfully working toward a solution when opinions differ.
  • Provide routine spreadsheet analysis of member business financial statements.
  • Interface and coordinate with Loan Officer, Processing and Servicing Teams to ensure effective communication and efficient operations.
  • Provide high quality member service including direct member contact as required.
  • Utilize available technology to maintain a high level of organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to review simple to moderately difficult appraisals with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate the Credit Union's philosophy in all interactions and adhere to Credit Union values with members, prospective members and team members.
  • Uphold the Credit Union's policies and procedures and champion organizational culture both internally and externally.
  • Represent and promote the Credit Union within the business community.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • Degree in business, finance, economics or accounting.
  • One year of direct experience preferred.

  • Use effective judgment to make sound decisions while minimizing the Credit Union's exposure to risk.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivated, accurate and efficient data entry skills, ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills which are essential to working as a member of a team and interacting with management and clients.
  • Experience with member/customer service operations to include the understanding of effective member service philosophy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, exercise good judgment, and employ initiative.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to technology platforms utilized to perform job duties.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite; able to apply these tools to prepare monthly reporting and develop ad hoc reports.
  • Excellent understanding of regulations applicable to lending products.
  • Must have capability to address and resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Possess a working knowledge of all relevant Banking Rules and Regulations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Work Environment: Business office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand at a desk the majority of the workday; talk or hear; stand or walk occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is typically utilizing a computer, keyboard and phone. May occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.
