About the Team

The Industrial Compute team at OpenAI is responsible for all things compute capacity, from our partnership deals (i.e. stargate) through the delivery and operations of this capacity. The team is a fast-paced, dynamic team working on the cutting edge of capacity at scale, speed, quality, and cost, while enabling the best AI Frontier models and beyond.

About the Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the on time and quality delivery of the compute capacity that continues to unlock the best frontier AI models in the world. The role will work across multiple delivery suppliers and various delivery models to ensure OpenAI has the right capacity, at the right time.

You'll be responsible for:

• Direct accountability to capacity delivery as it ties to contract and business demands.

• Relationship management with each of our core delivery partners

• Executive communications on delivery status, challenges, and mitigations.

• Partnership within the industrial compute domain, from our deals team through to sustaining operation of the capacity.

• The role will manage a team of industrial leaders focused on capacity delivery through our partnerships.

We're looking for someone with:

• Hyperscale data center experience or equivalent

• A deep understanding of delivery models, experiences and risk management.

• Strong executive presence

• Excellent managerial and leadership skills

• Ability to have significant influence on delivery outcomes with limited direct ownership of contracted models.

• A good to strong understanding of the underlying architecture (e.g. Cerebras, AMD, TPUs, Nvidia platforms (current and next-gen), Trainium, etc) would be a great benefit.

Compensation Range: $347K - $495K
