With its 318 beds, this non-profit, full-service acute care hospital offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.



We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse Vascular Access Nurse to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment, insertion, maintenance and management of vascular access devices, including PICC lines, midlines and peripheral IVs, while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.



Preferred candidates will have experience in nursing infusion, mid-line and PICC placement, and a solid understanding of venous access devices and the vascular system. Proficiency in IV placement, central line care, blood draws, and medication management-including IV administration and anaphylaxis response-is highly valued.



The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent judgment, excellent time management, and the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.



Schedule:



  • 13 Week Contract, 36 hours per week.
  • 12-Hour Night shifts



Department Preferred Licensure, Certification, Registration:



  • Current and unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the District of Columbia.
  • Certification in BLS CPR required.
  • VA-BC (Vascular Access-Board Certified) strongly desired but not required.



Department Preferred Experience:



  • Minimum of three years hospital experience as a practicing nurse. (ICU or specialty unit preferred).



Department Preferred Education: BSN preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 70.00/hour - Maximum 70.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
