Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Project Cost Estimator to support capital and expense projects across multiple chemical processing facilities. This HQ-based role is responsible for developing, validating, and managing cost estimates for projects of varying size and complexity. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in industrial plant estimating and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop FEL 1-FEL 3 (Concept through Definitive) estimates and estimate basis documents.
• Validate third-party engineering estimates and contractor/vendor quotes.
• Perform take-offs from drawings, MTOs, and engineering deliverables to build accurate cost estimates.
• Review project schedules to ensure alignment with cost estimates.
• Identify and communicate cost, schedule, and scope gaps or risks.
• Lead estimate kick-offs, walk-downs, and review meetings with project teams.
• Support change order estimates and project budget (WBS) development.
• Maintain and improve estimating databases, tools, metrics, and processes.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in chemical, petrochemical, or industrial plant projects (strong piping/equipment knowledge).
• Recent experience estimating and validating multiple projects exceeding $5MM.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong experience with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE).
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Ability to perform plant walk-downs in typical industrial conditions.
• Valid driver's license and passport; willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong knowledge of estimating practices, risk/contingency development, and industry terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years in a senior/lead estimating role within an owner/operator environment (projects $20MM+).
• SAP experience related to project budgeting and cost tracking.
• AACE membership and/or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP).
• PMP certification.
• Experience with risk analysis tools (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations).
