The Staff Accountant is a core member of the Finance team who owns key general ledger activities and delivers accurate, timely, and decision-ready financial information for leadership. This role provides broad exposure to manufacturing accounting, corporate finance, cross-functional business support, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute to improving processes and strengthening financial rigor across the organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Core Accounting & Close

  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Own assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts, including monthly reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Support and execute month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Contribute to monthly financial reporting packages used by management.


Audit, Compliance & Controls

  • Contribute to external audit requests, preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare government, regulatory, and industry reporting requirements as needed.


Analysis & Business Support

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including margin and trend analysis.
  • Assist with preparation and review of budgeting activities.
  • Partner with internal departments to provide financial insight and support decision-making.


Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, close efficiency, financial reporting accuracy, and system utilization.
  • Leverage NetSuite and Excel to enhance data accuracy, automation, and visibility.
  • Participate in special projects supporting finance transformation and scalability.


Other

  • Assist with annual R&D tax credit studies.
  • Contribute to annual insurance renewal documentation and schedules.
  • Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and project tracking.
  • Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and performing account reconciliations.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of partnering across functions.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to grow responsibility over time.
  • Ability to leverage technology to achieve accounting objectives.
  • Ability to manage and drive change across functional lines.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.



WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron, and boots). Stress may result from workload and meeting schedules. Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $58,154 to $72,693 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
