About the Job

The 10,000 Families Study at the University of Minnesota is seeking a detail-oriented recent or upcoming graduate to support participant engagement efforts, data collection, and general study operations. This role is ideal for individuals interested in public health, epidemiology, or health sciences who are looking to gain hands-on research experience.
The 10,000 Families Study is led by multidisciplinary researchers at the University of Minnesota in the Schools of Medicine and Public Health in partnership with the Masonic Cancer Center. The 10,000 Families Study is a cohort study that looks at lifestyle, genetic, and environmental influences on health.

This role will maintain strong communication with study participants and support day-to-day logistical needs, including outreach, shipping/mailing study materials, and other administrative tasks. This position is well-suited for a recent graduate seeking meaningful research experience in a supportive academic environment.

Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing direct participant support to improve participant engagement and retention, as well as general administrative support to the study team. The incumbent will be required to follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP), university policy, and study specific protocols to ensure data integrity and participant privacy. The position will be hybrid, with most in person work taking place on the West Bank.

Specific Responsibilities

Participant Support (85%)
* Call study participants to provide reminders to complete study steps, answer questions, and support engagement efforts, document participant interactions in REDCap
* Prepare, assemble, and ship study kits according to protocol
* Prepare and mail participant letters and other materials
* Respond to participant emails
* Support general administrative and operational needs of the research team
* Assist with in-person health assessment visits
Administrative Support (15%)
* Attend weekly team meetings
* Support general administrative needs of the research team

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
* Strong verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work evenings and weekends
* Transportation to events locally and within Greater Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience in research, customer service, or call-based roles
* Familiarity with REDCap
* Bilingual
