As a key member of the NPI Process Engineering team you will play an integral part in helping Enovis drive the medical technology industry forward through transforming patient care and creating better patient outcomes. Job Title: Process Engineering Intern Reports To: NPI Process Engineer Location: USA - Austin Business Unit Description: Enovis Surgical Job Title/High Level Position Summary: Under general supervision you will develop/improve new manufacturing processes used to build Orthopedic implants and instruments. As part the Mfg. Engineering team you will assist in the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment to achieve NPI/Production goals for the Organization. This position will be focused on additive manufacturing using metal and/or polymer 3D printers. This could be a part-time role, minimum hours per week 20. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Basic Qualifications: At least 50% of studies completed in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.75. (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Materials Science preferred). Travel Requirements:
Desired Characteristics: Required knowledge in: Manufacturing, Process Development or Validations, Engineering Tools (Statistics, Technical Manuals, Kaizen, Six Sigma, DoE), Material Testing, Technical Report Writing. Preferred experience: Medical Device product development or Manufacturing; Hands-on experience with 3D printing or additive manufacturing technology - can be any technology, powder bed fusion (PBF) or selective laser sintering (SLS) preferred. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Organized. Ability to follow written and verbal direction. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Relevant Courses include Mechanics of Materials, Materials Processing, Failure Analysis, Machine Tool Operations for Engineers, Robot Mechanism Design, Materials Selection, Metallurgy of Engineering Alloys, Industrial Design for Production, Robotics and Automation, Statistical Methods for Process Control & Manufacturing. Physical Demands Ability to tug, pull, or lift up to (50) pounds. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
