Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about supporting Army training. The Maneuver Control Cell (MCC) Coordinator supports the U.S. Army Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) by planning, organizing, and coordinating the operations of the MCC during Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) and Mission Readiness Exercises (MRXs). The MCC functions as an economy-of-force response cell that replicates U.S. Army, Joint, Host Nation, and Coalition forces to create a realistic, holistic, and fully integrated operational environment.

Operating under the supervision of the MCTP S-35 FUOPS Chief, the MCC Coordinator ensures the MCC effectively stimulates training audiences across all Warfighting Functions (WfFs) and contributes to the achievement of training objectives for multi-echelon training audiences, from battalion through corps and Joint Task Force (JTF) levels.

What You'll Do

Exercise Execution and Simulation Management

  • Oversee the operation of the MCC as a competitive and non-competitive (scripted), scalable response cell replicating military forces within WARSIM.
  • Direct the production of operational orders, plans, running staff estimates, and commander inputs supporting the four elements of the Army Operations Process: plan, prepare, execute, and assess.
  • Serve as the primary integrator between the MCC and the exercise Chief Controller to ensure alignment with training objectives and exercise design.

Force Replication and Resource Management

  • Manage the MCC as an economy of force capability, reducing the overall exercise footprint through the effective use of Soldier augmentation and selected Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS).
  • Ensure that MCC operations provide accurate digital feeds, inputs, outputs, and mission planning products to senior training audience commanders and staff.
  • Coordinate delivery of MCC products supporting battle rhythm events, tactical network integration, and overall situational awareness.

Coordination and Staffing Requirements

  • Based on guidance from the MCTP Chief Controller (DCoS OPS), S-35 Chief, and scenario design leads, determine appropriate staffing levels and technical support for each WFX.
  • Recommend the number of role-players to serve as replicated unit commanders, identify the required Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) for Soldier augmentation, and determine the necessary MCIS systems to accurately represent assigned units and functions.
  • Develop and maintain staffing plans that support both the realism and efficiency of the exercise.

Exercise Design Integration and Adaptability

  • Collaborate with scenario design and operations teams to tailor MCC activities to meet each WFX's specific training objectives.
  • Adjust MCC staffing, equipment, and simulation inputs based on exercise scope, training audience composition, and evolving mission requirements.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and lessons learned to refine future MCC operations, improve processes, and enhance the overall effectiveness of WFX execution.

Reporting and Coordination

  • Provide timely reports and recommendations to the Chief Controller and S-35 Chief on MCC readiness, personnel requirements, system integration status, and operational performance.
  • Ensure that MCC outputs are synchronized with the broader MCTP battle rhythm and that all deliverables meet established standards and timelines.
  • This position requires travel across the Continental US, Europe and Korea.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint software.
  • Familiar with current Army and Joint doctrine.
  • BS/BA degree with 5+ years of military experience, or high school education with 10 years military experience.
  • Secret clearance required
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of military experience, including staff-level operations at division or corps level.
  • Prior experience with Warfighter Exercises (WFX), the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), or WARSIM preferred.
  • Proven leadership in coordinating multi-functional teams in a simulation or training environment.
  • Strong understanding of Army doctrine, operations process, and digital mission command systems.
