Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years' experience within University Human Resources.
  • Experience working directly with University System of Georgia Shared Services Center.
  • Direct experience working within OneUSG Connect, including positions and job data information.
  • Familiarity with faculty hiring processes, as well as appointment and tenure data.
  • Experience with troubleshooting across integrated systems, including self-identifying errors and reporting.


Position Summary
The HR Senior Managing Consultant & Dual Appointment Coordinator, within the Division of University Human Resources, provides professional consultation for human resources best practices that support the university and/or department in achieving stated goals and objectives. As a Sr. Consultant, this position will support initiatives that align human capital with organizational goals, ensure efficiency and flexibility of the workforce to better respond to internal and external changes, and improve system staffing and retention. This Sr. Consultant will act as the Dual Appointment Coordinator for UGA and will be the primary liaison for Dual Appt. processes and procedures. This position will function with a high level of integrity and independence and participate in policy, service, and/or program development.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary Dual Appointment Coordinator for UGA.
  • Oversight of the faculty contract generation process.
  • Deliver high-quality work that meets expectations for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with clients at various levels across the University.
  • Partner with other areas within University Human Resources to drive business and HR initiatives.
  • Create an environment of positive interactions, maintain confidentiality, establish trust and credibility, be seen by employees as approachable and fair, balance business needs with employee needs, and spend significant time interfacing directly with employees/client base.
  • Support and properly apply institutional, system-level, state, and federal policies and practices.
  • Identify training needs in the client base and identify/recommend training programs as needed, and contribute to on-the-job training or the development of new colleagues.

Day-to-Day Transaction Services Operations

  • Manages and processes employee data within UHR systems for the employee life cycle (hiring, terminations, job data updates, etc.).
  • Manages service processes and controls; identify gaps and inefficiencies, provide standardization and improvement recommendations which will impact the full employee lifecycle.
  • Identifies opportunities to drive HR operational efficiency via process improvements in functional area(s).
  • Collaborates with partners across UHR Teams, Office of Faculty Affairs, Payroll, and other centralized business offices to identify opportunities for improvement, training, and partnership.
  • Creates new and builds upon existing job aids and standard operating procedure documents to support a solid internal knowledge base.
  • Promotes and supports cross-training efforts across internal UHR teams and with campus partners, as needed.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders and maintains service level agreements.
  • Prepares reports for University Human Resources leadership.
  • Audits data on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and internal controls.

Duties/Responsibilities
Dual Appointment Coordination

  • Acts as the primary Dual Appointment Coordinator (DAC) for University Human Resources and UGA.
  • Works with Shared Services Center and other University System of Georgia (USG) and University of Georgia (UGA) contacts regarding Dual Appointments.
  • Primary contact for Dual Appointment inquiries and submissions, including technical processing and policy awareness. This includes working with both UGA Accounts Receivable and UGA units regarding the invoicing process of Dual Appointments.
  • Works with other Services Team members as needed for Dual Appointments, including training, knowledge-sharing, and communicating process updates.
  • Negotiates terms of Dual Appointments, advises units on Dual Appointment scenarios, and escalates to Services or other UHR leadership as needed.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with University leadership offices (VPs, Deans, Provost, President) regarding Dual Appointments.

Faculty Contract Processing

  • Manages the faculty contract generation process.
  • Testing contract generation during budget development. Process includes partnering with the UGA Budget Office, UHR's HRIS Team, and potentially other teams across campus.
  • Partners with the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) on contract process. Will also work with other University partners as needed throughout the process (e.g., Budgets, UHR team members, and process consultants).
  • Works with departments on contract data and corrections.
  • Communicates with faculty directly regarding technical contract questions (i.e., troubleshooting in OneUSG Connect)
  • Acts as point of contact within UHR regarding faculty contract generation process.
