Senior UX Designer

IBM Corporation, Austin, TX (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Lead user-centered design strategy using iterative frameworks and continuous validation, applying Enterprise Design Thinking to cloud-native technologies within IBM Cloud Platform Services. Conduct user research, usability testing, and scenario mapping to inform design decisions and enhance product usability and accessibility. Produce wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications aligned with internal Design Language and Carbon Design System, ensuring consistency across IBM Cloud solutions. Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful design implementation, leveraging CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and Infrastructure as code tools. Mentor junior designers and provide guidance during design critiques, fostering UX design excellence and evangelism across enterprise teams. Facilitate Design Thinking workshops with internal and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts, gather consensus, and align on strategic goals. Contribute to internal Pattern Asset Library and evolve design systems to support scalable, accessible, and standardized enterprise applications. Apply specialized knowledge of cloud-native product lifecycle management, including deployment, monitoring, and scaling using observability and logging tools. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Cognitive Science or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as an Advisory Designer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing IBM Carbon Design System, Front-End Framework, Enterprise Design Thinking, Git Hub, Jenkins, Terraform, Cloud Formation, IBM Cloud, AWS, Continuous Deployment (CD) toolchains, IBM Watson Assistant. $159466 to $209466 per year.
