Operate a manual horizontal lathe to machine a variety of metal components to print specifications Perform full machine setups, including tooling selection, alignment, and speed/feed adjustments Bore out soft jaws and modify fixturing as needed for each unique setup Accurately measure and inspect parts using micrometers, indicators, and other precision instruments Maintain tolerance requirements of 0.001" or tighter, ensuring all parts meet strict quality standards Interpret detailed blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining operations Work with team leads, engineers, and quality personnel to resolve machining challenges Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times What You Bring: 2+ years of experience operating a manual horizontal lathe in a precision machining environment Ability to hold tight tolerances consistently and work with a variety of materials Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools Must own personal tools, including indicators and general hand tools Capable of performing setups independently and troubleshooting issues as they arise Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality Reliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
