What to Expect
As a Test Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting Optimus production operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated test equipment, test harnesses, HMIs, and industrial networks to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supports maintenance teams, and ensures equipment reliability. Test Engineering Techs are the first-responding problem solvers who manage test equipment breakdown recoveries to keep production running.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot automated test systems, data acquisition hardware, sensors, and other automation components to quickly restore production
  • Analyze CAN signals to document failure modes for engineering analysis
  • Work with Engineers to fabricate, assemble, integrate, and repair mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and wire harnesses
  • Audit software deployment versions on factory equipment and assist engineering with revision control
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to root cause and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, provide detailed written & verbal test status updates to key stakeholders such as investigations and shift passdowns
  • Work closely with Test Engineers, Control Engineers, and Maintenance Technicians to resolve recurring issues and implement improvements
  • Maintain exceptional change control discipline in a rapidly evolving product and manufacturing environment

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in electromechanical systems or automated manufacturing equipment with exposure to a variety of test and automation systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, data acquisition, and I/O devices
  • Strong Electrical background including understanding electrical wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical cabinets ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase
  • Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics in EPLAN
  • Experience using hand tools and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscope, soldering irons, and crimpers, with a focus on troubleshooting and repair tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to apply first principles thinking in problem solving to analyze and resolve technical issues
  • Previous experience working with CAN, Ethercat communication and Linux (Bash commands) is a plus
  • Previous experience working with Tesla used tools such as Jira, Confluence and Tesla firmware diagnostic tools (UDSGUI, CANape, toolbox) is a plus

    Expected Compensation
    $30.50 - $38.85/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
