Sr. Systems Engineer

Office hybrid in San Francisco, CA

Overview of the Role:

The Senior Systems Engineer role is part of the Marketing Event Technology team. The team is made up of Product, Engineering, and Operations professionals who come together to transform the in-person and digital experience at Salesforce Events for prospects & customers.

This role will be responsible for configuration, support and continued optimization of the RainFocus implementation to allow event marketers to create and run their events smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the RainFocus platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and governance in alignment with business needs

  • Configure and Maintain event data architecture, templates and APIs in our vendor system

  • Partner with internal teams to manage integrations with CRM, marketing automation, identity, and sales systems

  • Administer user roles, permissions, and access controls in accordance with governance and security standards

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for complex platform issues and configuration challenges

  • Partner with RainFocus support and vendors to resolve incidents and drive timely resolution

  • Enforce platform governance, standards, and best practices across all event types

  • Lead platform change management, including releases, enhancements, and impact assessments

  • Drive continuous improvement to streamline event setup, reduce manual effort, and improve time-to-launch

  • Act as a subject matter expert on RainFocus capabilities and evolving event technology best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience administering enterprise SaaS platforms (event technology, marketing platforms, CRM, or similar)

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience administering RainFocus or a comparable enterprise event management platform

  • Strong experience configuring workflows, forms, templates, permissions, and governance models in a multi-user environment

  • Experience managing user access, roles, and data privacy in systems handling attendee and customer data

  • Working knowledge of integrations and data flows between SaaS platforms (e.g., CRM, marketing automation, identity, analytics)

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex platform and configuration issues and partner with vendors for resolution

  • Experience supporting operational teams in a self-serve or scaled delivery model

  • A related technical degree required

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced expertise in configuring RainFocus with the Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud stacks via REST APIs, webhooks, or middleware like MuleSoft.

  • Proven track record of designing "Master Templates" and automated workflows that enable regional teams to launch localized events rapidly while maintaining strict data integrity.

  • Deep technical knowledge of SSO/SAML protocols and global data privacy standards (GDPR/CCPA) to ensure secure, compliant attendee journeys.

  • Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies to lead platform change management and utilizing Tableau or CRM Analytics to monitor platform health and event ROI.

The typical base salary range for this position is $150,100 - $227,000 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $180,200 - $247,900 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
