General Summary

Directs data flow for multiple studies in the Neuroscience of Risk and Development (NeRD) Laboratory. The NeRD lab uses a developmental framework to identify risk markers for, and biological mechanisms that underlie severe psychiatric disorders. Data manger will be responsible for data management in a study that uses big data to determine how deviations from pediatric neurodevelopmental growth charts predict risk for psychosis, and by testing whether these markers can be measured with high-performance low-field MRI for future use in community. Data manger will also work on a study aiming to delineate sleep physiology changes that occur over adolescence and determine how these trends interact with sociocultural, environmental, and sex/pubertal factors. Collaborates with Coordinators, Managers. Principal Investigators on the design, development, implementation, and validation of modest databases. Establishes and follows procedures for effectively entering, cleaning and managing data. Develops and maintains data record filing system. Provides data management support to study staff, including senior data managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides data coordination and data management services for studies supported by the NeRD Lab.
  • Assists colleagues with analysis file creation and statistical analyses.
  • Supports clinical research reporting for data review, quality control checks, and interim and final analysis. Designs, develops, and validates databases using application software suitable for supporting clinical research investigations.
  • Provides educational support and training to investigators and study staff for the development and implementation of research studies. Participates in teaching CRP data management practices to lab employees.Provides project and data management support for CRP NeRD Lab studies.
  • Provides positive and effective customer service/ Effectively communicates with colleagues and contributes to teamwork within and between departments, divisions, programs and other organizations.
  • Ensures work in the CRP NeRD Lab is performed in conformance with established hospital, program, federal, and state policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree Preferably in health science, mathematics or related.
Experience
  • 2 years of data entry and data coordinator experience.
  • Analytical skills to handle clinical research data in an organized, accurate and timely manner.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with data management and statistical software e.g. SAS, SPSS, relational data management, web based EDC.
  • Critical attention to detail and accuracy.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
