Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Tualatin, OR. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Perform incoming inspection using precision equipment including CMM (Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon), surface roughness testers, optical comparators, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings with deep knowledge of GD&T per ANSI standards.
  • Prioritize urgent requests such as line-down situations and purges; proactively manage the daily inspection workload based on priority and overdue aging.
  • Conduct source inspections and calibration audits at supplier locations to verify conformance before shipment.
  • Report and document non-conforming materials; collaborate with Supplier Engineers, Manufacturing, and SCM for timely resolution.
  • Support production and supplier engineers by measuring suspect parts to determine disposition.
  • Lead IQA inspection planning for both Tualatin and Livermore sites; ensure SLA adherence and capacity planning.
  • Develop, manage, and report performance metrics and dashboards to drive IQA accountability and improvements.
  • Own and maintain calibration schedules and tool health across the IQA metrology equipment fleet; ensure full audit readiness.
  • Represent IQA during internal, customer, and third-party audits (ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best-known methods (BKMs) across the global IQA network.
  • Collaborate with global IQA teams to align processes and share improvement strategies.
  • Utilize SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office tools to manage inspection records and analytics.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing quality or metrology in a high-tech environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Hands-on programming and operation experience with Zeiss CMM.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a hands-on IQA/metrology role.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
  • Expertise in GD&T interpretation and mechanical inspection techniques.
  • Experience with Mitutoyo and Hexagon systems.
  • Proficiency in managing calibration programs and metrology equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and using inspection metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards and experience supporting audits.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint for quality tracking and reporting.
  • Strong prioritization and decision-making skills under high-pressure conditions.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience mentoring junior inspectors or leading small quality teams.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), capability studies, and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work independently with a high tolerance to ambiguity in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
