R&D Lab Technician

R&D Lab Technician (Part-Time) - Wilmington, NC

Pay: $21-$24/hour | 25 hours/week

We are seeking a detail-oriented R&D Lab Technician to support polyol research, chemical testing, and laboratory operations at our Wilmington, NC facility. This part-time role focuses on assisting R&D Principal Investigators with experiments, analytical testing, and documentation to drive new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute experimental protocols including polyol synthesis, analytical testing, and end-use physical property tests
• Record and maintain accurate data, laboratory notebooks, and documentation for compliance
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and instrumentation (FTIR, NIR, GC, GCMS, LC, wet chemistry)
• Assist with safety and compliance checks in the laboratory
• Secure materials, manage lab supplies, and support R&D project execution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science field
• Experience with analytical instrumentation and standard laboratory methods
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and safely in a chemical lab

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform routine lab tasks
• Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE usage
