Description

The St. Anthony Hotel is seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to lead and oversee two distinctive dining concepts within the property: Esencia, our recently launched fine dining concept, and Anacacho Coffee & Cantina, a semifinalist for the 2025 James Beard Best Restaurant Award.

This role is responsible for driving exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and financial performance across both outlets while developing and leading a high-performing hospitality team. The Restaurant General Manager will play a key role in continuing to establish Esencia as a premier fine dining destination while further elevating the success and reputation of Anacacho Coffee & Cantina.

The ideal candidate is a polished hospitality leader with strong operational discipline, a passion for luxury service, and the ability to cultivate memorable dining experiences while maintaining a culture of excellence.

Situated in the heart of downtown, overlooking Travis Park, the AAA Four Diamond, St. Anthony Hotel offers easy access to the trendy restaurants and historical landmarks in San Antonio, Texas. St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel San Antonio, opened in 1909 and has been designated a national historic site. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILIES:


  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and service teams across both restaurant concepts.



  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and exceptional hospitality.



  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor team members to uphold luxury service standards.



  • Conduct regular pre-shift meetings and ongoing training to ensure consistency in service delivery.




Guest Experience


  • Ensure every guest receives attentive, personalized, and memorable service.



  • Maintain strong floor presence during service periods to support the team and engage with guests.



  • Address guest concerns and feedback with professionalism and urgency.



  • Create an environment that reflects the elevated standards expected of luxury dining experiences.




Operations Management


  • Oversee all front-of-house operations including reservations, seating flow, service pacing, and floor leadership.



  • Collaborate closely with the culinary leadership team to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and service.



  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout both outlets.



  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational standards.




Financial Performance


  • Manage labor costs, inventory controls, and operational expenses.



  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to drive revenue and profitability.



  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.




Brand & Service Standards


  • Uphold luxury hospitality standards and ensure consistency in service execution.



  • Maintain strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage offerings to support elevated guest experiences.



  • Continue building the reputation of Esencia as a premier fine dining destination.



  • Support and further elevate the award-recognized reputation of Anacacho Coffee & Cantina.




REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • 5+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in luxury, fine dining, or upscale hospitality environments.



  • Proven ability to lead high-performing hospitality teams.



  • Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards, food, wine, and beverage programs.



  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.



  • Experience managing budgets, labor, and operational costs.



  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
